193 Gallery

193 Gallery (193 as the number of country in the world) is an art gallery which has for ambition to effectuate a world tour of contemporary art through exhibitions dedicated to a specific country and its artists.

More than a gallery, the 193 wishes to introduce the audience to the culture of a country and a specific contemporary art movement. During our travels around the world, we explored the local artistic art scenes and selected the most promising emergent artists to be exhibited at the 193 Gallery in Paris.

Catherine Mikolajczak imagined a definitely actual concept, showing contemporary and urban art to a professional audience, with a rich, unique and varied artistic program in exhibition spaces constantly renewed. The gallery owner offers a new vision of contemporary art, rewriting its codes and traditions, and presents it in a new form of art gallery. Pioneer of the concept since 2013, Catherine defines gallery 42b as a “ nomadic gallery ”. Its innate sense for scenography conduced her to constantly look for new exhibition spaces for her artists. And to give her audience a unique experience through her exhibitions. Since september 2016, gallery 42b has inaugurated a new permanent address, located in 3rd area of Paris.

Artcan Gallery

Founded in 2016 ArtCan promotes and defends his artists to ensure their international visibility through publications and solo shows. It based his success on a selection of the best artist and an international network cultivated on the auction experiences of his founder.

Diego Escobar, after several years spent in international auction houses like Sotheby’s, London, Galartis, Lausanne and Tajan, Paris for which he took care of the contemporary art and urban art departments, he decided to create his own company. ArtCan idea was born from daily exchanges with artists and the frustration caused by the impossibility of promoting them in auction houses.
Nicolas Maillefert, passionate by old school graffiti and urban art, he has never ceased to work with aesthetics and avant-gardism in his professional life or his collection. Established in Marseille for near than 20 years he has decided to break the curtain and becoming associate in ArtCan Gallery.

Bel-Air Fine Art

Bel-Air Fine Art

The Bel-Air Fine Art gallery, established since 2004 within the heart of Geneva, inaugurated in 2010 its 200 square meter exhibition space. The group has an international presence through galleries in London, Paris, Saint-Tropez, Cannes, Venice, Forte dei Marmi, Crans-Montana, Verbier, Gstaad, Knokke and Miami. The gallery also organises art exhibitions throughout Europe, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates and the United States. In parallel to his specialised galleries in Street Art, Neo Pop Art and Optical Art, François Chabanian, art dealer for now more than thirty years, art collector himself, and his son Gregory Chabanian are involved in the promotion of their most iconic artists at exclusive events and international art fairs. At the occasion of its new participation to Urban Art Fair, Bel Air Fine Art introduces the street artist Grégory Watin whose his work is strongly impregnated by the working world: people, places, materials. Incredibly modern, his production finds some filiations with the arte Povera and Pop Art but the artist has found his own style. Grégory Watin uses the most unusual materials such as the raw material of building sites and plexiglass which thus become symbols of our civilization in search of meaning. His latest works gives an important place to the male body and challenges us on the notion of appearing. A new series on the history of migrants will be exhibited in preview for this edition.

Galerie Brugier-Rigail

Galerie Brugier-Rigail

Among the characteristic landscape of contemporary art galleries, Galerie Brugier-Rigail has a unique artistic and aesthetic line. At once urban and contemporary, this gallery, created in 2001, is modelled on its two founders. Éric Brugier and Laurent Rigail, both art lovers, started as collectors before becoming gallerists. Only representing personally selected artists and pieces, they support young artists whom they find promising. As two gallerists that had both once dreamed of taking the creative path, the aesthetic line of the gallery naturally takes an old school route, presenting the pioneers of urban art from the 80’s.

The “Galerie Sisso” itself becomes “H GALLERY” and adopts a new artistic line based in particular on the discovery and development of talents that have never been shown in France, especially artists who live and work in North and Latin America.

These artists use various mediums such as installations, paintings, drawings, sculptures, videos, performances and photographs. The great  American continent is the subject of so much attention that it seems already well known to all Europeans. Yet, it still contains unexplored treasures at the crossroads of cultures that nurture its diversity and its contemporaneity.

Benjamin Noël Vandenberghe is the co-founder of the Invisible Borders Foundation. This foundation highlights African art on the Western scene and through the prism of art, addresses strong themes to talk about it differently. Invisible Borders artists engage themselves in causes that echo painful news. "Enfant Soldiers" at Drouot was the launch of the "Invisible Borders Foundation" - highlighting a scourge that always hit Africa hard. Most of the artists have grown up in war-torn countries, but all of them carry confidence and vital strength they seek to restore through their art. "Art does not always have to be engaged, but we want to show that artists can work together on strong themes and spread a powerful message."

In the cobbled streets of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, has crept an atypical place dedicated to street art: the Loft of 34. At the end of a courtyard, hidden in the street of the Dragon, this one bloomed at the beginning of the year 2016.

Born out of Sylvie and Laurent’s will, a daring and passionate of urban art couple, and there son Alex, the young gallery has today become a meeting point in the street artistic environment.

But especially thanks to its shows, solo or collective, appealing to the talent of emerging or confirmed virtuosos, local or international.

Galerie Nicolas Xavier

Montpellier

Galerie Nicolas Xavier

The Nicolas Xavier Gallery derives its name from the names of its founder, Nicolas Callu, French forerunner of graffiti culture and creator of Montana Gallery France. Located in the historic center, the Ecusson de Montpellier, on the Place des musées, a few steps from the Fabre museum, the gallery has naturally found its place. Former stables and mansion of the 13th and 14th centuries, now an art gallery, this place has regained its hospitable and welcoming historical character. The place also compares to a setting enhancing the content that we want to discover: works of art. The opening of the gallery is finally, and above all, the realization of one of the great aspirations of a founder filled with projects and an ardent passion that he is enthusiastic to share.

PDP Gallery

Paris

PDP Gallery

First clandestine, nowadays nomad, PDP is a new generation cultural platform, seeking contemporary art boundaries. As the action of the artist involved in the project, PDP gallery invades everywhere, independent, without borders.

Born out of an utopia in 2011, PDP has since seen its community growing, collaborating up with those as the music label An.Art, that defend and promote a new vision of the art world.
